It’s “Ask a Stupid Question Day”! (thanks for asking)

In honor of this very special widely known holiday, I created a page on the Wikipedia for it. You can see my Wiki page here

Pirate Book Reviews

Last month the New York Times ran a great review of different pirate books. With the seasons changing, there may be some reading time in people’s schedules. If so, check out this article for a review of some good books. May ease the coming seasons.

The New York Times requires you to register. If you don’t want to do that, use this as your username/password on their website:

Pirate’s are cool…

See, today’s Talk Like a Pirate Day, and I have some inspiration again. While reading Slashdot today at lunch, I came across a great article about the “Flying Spagetti Monster” version of Intelligent Design. While the whole website is worth the read, the graph below really jumped right out at me…

So, that’s why we are going through global warming

I guess today we expect that the global average temperature will drop significantly today, and then rise again tomorrow.

Corrolary: The global average temperature is inversly proportional to the number of pirates in the world.

Also, Wiki has some fun stuff on the Flying Spagetti Monsterism Religion, and another article (from CNN) with more background info on FSM-ID and the Kansas State Board of Education.

the only day of the year when you can talk like a pirate and not be entirely insane…

Ahoy, talk Like a Pirate Day only comes once a year (on September 19th), this year it falls on a Monday. On talk like a pirate day, e’eryone talks as if they war a pirate. While not as popular as Christmas or Thanksgi’in’, Talk Like a Pirate Day is a recognized and heartily celebrated international holiday. On September 19th, people awake transformed: their ‘oices deeper, their usual pedestrian walk replaced by a seaman’s swagger, and whene’er they speak, they speak with the ‘oice o’ a pirate. Gar.

For more info on Talk like a pirate day check out this.

Yes, this day is international:

Seasons change (contd.)

With the changing of the seasons, fall and winter are approaching. Weather is starting to get cool, and the lake is low on water. The “Rum Runner” will likely get pulled from the lake very soon, and will be parked over the winter in the garage. To make room for it, and for the lovely wife to park in the garage, several “Projects” need to go. First of those projects on the block are the boats below. If anyone is interested, check out their ebay auctions…

Married and new baby, I guess it’s just time to simplify a bit…

Pirate Update – Seasons Change

Filed September 16, 2005 at 6:21 pm under Uncategorized by TJ

Life has been busy. I have lots of new Tanner (Mighty Munchkin) pictures to upload, and some of last weeks visit to Tennessee to see Teressa (T-Bear) play soccer. Work is so busy, I haven’t had the opportunity to get those uploaded. On a good note, one of my clients, a local swimming pool and spa company, traded me a block of consulting time for a great wonderful spa. Took delivery last week, it’s out back next to the deck. I just need to get electricity to it, and extend the deck around it.

I have been wanting to put my thoughts of the tragedy in New Orleans on here, but I have not been sure exactally what to write. That’s been my main issue lately. No real muse. Been too busy to get on the boat, though with gas prices, I can’t really afford to be on the boat this month. Boat is probably getting pulled from the water real soon now. Time for the next season.

Going into the fall, you will see another side of this pirate, one who has a vast appreciation for being in the woods, though with a new baby in the house, it’ll be interesting how much the lady pirate lets me get out to the woods. Maybe getting out of the house, and away from work, I’ll get some writing inspiration back again…
