At least it was before…

Anyone ever dropped their cell phone in the toilet? I guess it happens all the time. Since Verizon Wireless will not warranty a wet phone, and since the Motorola E815 is about $350 for full retail (they wouldn’t even cut me any deal), I did some searching for alternatives.

Options:
1. Remove battery IMMEDIATLY. If you phone was dropped into hard water, or chlorinated water, soak in distilled water and agitate for 30 seconds.
2. Get as much water out of the phone as possible. Shake, towel dry, etc.
3. Try to dissasemble as much as you can.
4. Bake at 220° (degree symbol is alt 2-4-8) for 1 hour or let dry for several days (Update: 220 is too high, try 175)
5. Reassemble, Hopefully it works again…

If not, you are stuck buying a new or used phone…
